In June 1985, Sabemo was awarded the $94 million construction contract for the 400-room Adelaide Hyatt Regency International Hotel, the largest contract ever let in that State. Other prestigious contracts secured by Sabemo were the multi-million dollar redevelopment of the Australian Embassy in Hanoi and a number of luxury hotels in Ho Chi Minh City.
By the late 1980s, Sabemo was restructured and its operations were subsumed by Transfield's Constructions Branch. At the same time, Vittorio Moratelli retired, because of ill health, and sold back to the other two partners his one-third-share interest in Sabemo. He died in November 1996.
